Sea Scouts BSA

Come one, come all, on Saturday September 17th 2016, to a special Scouting Sailing Regatta hosted by the Edison Boat Club , The Detroit Yacht Club, and the Detroit Boat Club.

This race is for anyone interested in learning more about Great Lakes Sea Scouting and Sailing, and we do not care if you know how to sail!

That’s right, sailing ability is not required! (you must be able to swim though)

Event is currently capped at only 24 youth participants so register as soon as possible!

This year’s “Motor City Sea Scout Scouting Regatta” is a FUN RUN for ANY Scouts between the ages of 14-21. We will race 19′ Flying Scot sailboats in the Detroit River with 1-2 youth per vessel and a qualified Skipper to help them operate their boat. Check-in will start at 9am Saturday September 17th at the Edison Boat Club 100 Lycaste St. Detroit Michigan 48214, and racing begins at 10am. Lunch (hotdogs, chips, and pop) will be served around noon and more racing resumes around 1pm. Event concludes at 4:30 with a brief (bragging rights) award ceremony and participation certificates .

Cost of the event is $5 per participant! Payable at the event, Cash only. (Food for adults available inside the club for purchase.)

Registration is via email and Facebook: must register no later than Monday, September 12th. Email your registration to Timothy Branson at: tombstone3821@yahoo.com or post your registration in the comment section of this post on the “Motor City Sea Scout Regatta” Facebook Page.
