Who Pays for Sea Scouts?
Sea Scouts are self-reliant and pay for their own way including uniforms, equipment, Ship’s dues, and other personal expenses including membership fees required for BSA-provided liability and medical insurance coverage. Most Ships participate or conduct council approved money earning projects to help pay for part of your expenses.
Who can Join Sea Scouts?
To join, a youth must be 14 years old (or 13 years and completed the eighth grade) but not yet 21. To ﬁnd Sea Scout ships In your area visit beascout.org and type in your zipcode. lf there is not a Ship in your area, a group of parents, a school, a church, or community organization can organize one.
