Sea Scouting provides young men and women who are part of the program with amazing opportunities to experience activities that normally one can only dream about. This web page is a compilation of just some of the activities that are made available to Sea Scouts on National and Regional levels.

National Sea Scout Boatswain National Sea Scout Boatswain Nominations - The National Venturing Division is seeking Sea Scouts to apply for the position of National Sea Scout Boatswain. This is an opportunity for Sea Scouts to nationally represent the youth of Sea Scouting. Additionally, each year the National Sea Scout Boatswain is eligible for consideration for selection as the National Venturing President. A $1,000 scholarship goes with the National President position. Applications are available as MS Word and Adobe PDF files.
Regional Venturing President nomination Regional Venturing President Nominations - The National Venturing Division is seeking Venturers and Sea Scouts to apply for the position of Regional Venturing President. This is an opportunity for Sea Scouts and Venturers to regionally and nationally represent the youth of Venturing and Sea Scouts. Additionally, each year one Regional Venturing President will be selected to be the National Venturing President. A $1,000 scholarship goes with the National President position. William I. Koch International Sea Scout Cup William I. Koch International Sea Scout Cup - Join us in 2008 for the fourth William I. Koch International Sea Scout Cup in Annapolis, Maryland. The gauntlet is down and we challenge all Sea Scouts around the world to race for the William I. Koch International Sea Scout Cup! This International Sea Scout event is hosted by the U.S. Naval Academy, with the support of the Northeast Region. The overall winner in Maryland will be named the International Champions.
PADI PADI Dive to Adventure Scholarship Program - Scholarships from PADI are available for Sea Scouts and Venturers to take Scuba diving training. Click here to obtain the application materials.
National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration NOAA Ernest F. Hollings Scholarship Program - The NOAA Ernest F. Hollings Scholarship Program provides approximately 100 college undergraduates up to $29,050 each for their academic studies related to NOAA science, research, technology, policy, management, and education activities. The program also offers a multi-disciplinary summer internship providing students the opportunity to work with NOAA scientists. Applications will be accepted through February 8th. Coast Guard recruiting Advanced enlistment in the Coast Guard - Sea Scouts who have achieved the Sea Scout Able rank can enlist in the Coast Guard as Seaman Apprentices (E-2), and Sea Scout Quartermasters can enlist as Coast Guard Seamen (E-3). VFW "Scout of the Year" Scholarship - This scholarship competition has been available to Eagle Scouts only for many years. The Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) are now making these scholarships available to Quartermasters and Venturing Silver Award recipients. Click here to see the details. William M. Minto Memorial Scholarship for Sea Scouts - This scholarship provides the opportunity for an outstanding Sea Scout who is a recent high school graduate that has attained the Sea Scout rank of Able or Quartermaster to attend the Summer School at Sea Program, Texas A&M University at Galveston. Sea Kayaking Adventure - Sea Scouts are invited to participate in the Sea Kayaking Adventure at Camp Blue Heron near Savannah, Georgia. Details are available at the Coastal Empire Council website.
BoatU.S. Grassroots Grants - Sea Scouts are invited to apply for BoatU.S. Foundation Grassroots grants. Grants are available in amounts up to $5,000 for special educational programs, events, or campaigns to promote boating safety. Details are available at the BoatU.S. Foundation website.
Venturing 10th Anniversary Photo Contest - Sea Scouts are invited to compete in the "Venturing 10th Anniversary" photo contest. The judges will be looking for the photographs that best exhibit creativity, originality, and visual beauty.
