Sea Scouts BSA

We are proud to announce that Evan Nazareth has been selected as the 2023-2024 National Boatswain. Evan is from Ship 244 of the Occoneechee Council in Raleigh, North Carolina. Evan’s long list of accomplishments include earning the Eagle Scout Award, the Quartermaster Award, and the Venturing Summit Award. Evan has also earned the  Scouting Catholic Religious Emblems the Ad Altare Dei and he is a Vigil Honor member of the Order of the Arrow. Evan is a honoree of both the National Sea Scout Leadership Award and National Service Territory Venturing Leadership Award.

Evan’s goal is to build an inclusive Sea Scouts, BSA community focused on growth, leadership, and fun by showcasing our online resources. Evan is eager to give back to others and looks forward to his term of National Boatswain, beginning on June 1, 2023. 

Evan joined Sea Scouts, BSA in 2016 while working on his Eagle. He was inspired by his Scouting leaders and his adventures in Sea Scouts. Evan credits Sea Scouts with his abilities to learn, teach, and lead complex activities. Evan’s Scouting achievements also include being a graduate of SEAL, NYLT, NAYLE. Furthermore, Evan was selected by the US Coast Guard to participate in the USCG Barque EAGLE program in 2022.

Evan graduated Magna Cum Laude from Green Hope High School in Cary, NC, and he is a Freshman at the University of North Carolina in Charlotte majoring in Mechanical Engineering.
