Southern Region Contact

On behalf of the more than 120 Sea Scout ships across the Southern region, welcome to the Southern Region Sea Scout website. Our region is home to some of the finest boating in the world, from our inland lakes and rivers to the Gulf of Mexico to the Florida Keys to the Outer Banks. We have room for lots more Sea Scouts and Sea Scout ships, so join us and get out on the water!

If you are interested in joining or starting a Sea Scout ship in Southern Region (which consists of Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, and Tennessee, and parts of Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Texas, Virginia, and West Virginia) please contact us using the “Southern Region Contact” form below and to the left. We’ll do everything we can to help you! Meanwhile there are some good resources for new ships on this site – check out the New Leader section under Resources above.

The Southern Region is an administrative body of the BSA that supports Sea Scouts in all of Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, and Tennessee, and parts of Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Texas, Virginia, and West Virginia. The region is broken down into nine areas that help to deliver program and training resources that best serve the scouts and scouters in the area. The region has a volunteer Sea Scout staff and each area has an Area Commodore to oversee Sea Scout activity in that area. You can use the “Southern Region Contact” form below and to the left to contact your Area Commodore, just let us know what area you are interested in. If you aren’t sure, just let us know the nearest city and we’ll figure it out.
