Ahoy, Sea Scouts! I am back to discuss uniforms – something that I am sure we’ve all had some confusion over.
Needed: A Passionate Individual to Serve as Area 5 Commodore
The area covers Western Missouri, Western Iowa, Nebraska and Kansas.
Responsibilities include being the lead contact for Sea Scout Ships in the Area and developing a team to assist the Ships’ efforts to deliver the quality Sea Scout program to our youth.

While other Ships in other Regions have been “on the water” for some time, we in the Central Region have just begun thinking of uncovering the boats, doing our safety checks and needed repairs and deciding when we plan to launch. Spring is a busy time for our Ships.

Using Email to Send a Text Message
Did you know you can send text messages from your desktop or laptop email program, or even webmail? It is an easy and convenient way to send meeting reminders to the Sea Scouts, and their parents. Messages are delivered individually, not as group texts. Replies come back to your inbox. And you can maintain your contact info in one place. This is a great way to keep in contact, without the need to try and figure out how to send text messages from your phone.
Sea Scout Resolution Approved
IRVING, TX – The National Council of Scouting America has approved a resolution establishing Sea Scouts, BSA as an independent program of Scouting America–in full company with the other BSA programs: Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Varsity Scouts, and Venturing....From the Central Region Boatswain – February Edition
The beginning of 2016 has been exciting and busy! The Region and I have been working hard to make information and resources available to you. A few weeks ago, we sent out a notice that we needed area and regional youth staff: as of today, I believe that still holds true. I know many of you have reservations in regards to joining a youth corps because either you’re worried about commitments or you’re worried that you don’t have enough experience. Personally, stepping into this job from a unit- I didn’t know what I would be doing or how I was going to accomplish anything with my busy schedule. I can assure you: the adult staff works with you to achieve your goals and manage your time. If you are at all interested, please apply! We still require Area Boatswains, Regional Boatswains Mates, and a Regional Yeoman.
