It’s time to apply to be a National Boatswain, National Boatswain Elect, and members of the National Quarterdeck for the 2025-2026 term – taking office at BSA’s National Annual Meeting for a one-year term starting June 1, 2024.
“This year, we have an exciting new position called National Boatswain Elect. This position works directly with the Boatswain to establish familiarity with running the National Quarterdeck. This provides opportunities for the Boatswain Elect to experience participating on the Quarterdeck and gaining knowledge and procedures for their term as boatswain the following year. This scout acts as the second in command for the Quarterdeck. Scouts that take this position should have at least two years left in scouting before aging out at 21.”
As a National Quarterdeck officer, you will serve as the voice and action of Sea Scouts from around the nation. You will work with a team of youth officers and adult advisors to suggest and support programmatic change. NQD Officers will serve a term of one year, from June 1st to May 31st of the next year.
