Join Sea Scouts for a week of camping, camaraderie, and adventure at Camp Strake! The Sam Houston Area Council’s Long Cruise brings ships together to develop Sea Scout skills, work toward advancement, and strengthen cooperation.

Morning sessions focus on shore-based skills and advancement. Afternoons feature on-water activities and camp adventures, with evening classes offered as needed to support advancement.

• Fellowship with other Sea Scout ships

DATE: June 27–July 3, 2027

PLACE: Camp Strake, 2020 Camp Strake Road, Coldspring, TX 77331

PRICING: The council currently lists $300 per Scout and $200 per adult, including meals, a patch, and program supplies. A $100 non-refundable deposit holds the ship reservation and applies toward the total camp fee. Confirm current fees and registration deadlines with the council.

WHO MAY ATTEND: Registered Sea Scouts and adults attending with their sponsoring ships. Youth must attend with their ship.

LEADERSHIP: Each ship must provide at least two adult leaders and one adult for every 10 youth, with appropriate female adult leadership for ships attending with female youth.

WHAT TO BRING: Required health and medical forms and a printed Emergency Action Plan Acknowledgement Form signed by a parent or guardian. Consult the participant guide and boarding manual for complete preparation details.
