IRVING TX – The newly redesigned Sea Scout website went live today. SeaScout.org aims to be the complete Sea Scout resource for Sea Scouts, prospective Sea Scouts, volunteers, professionals, partners, and the public. The new site features new tools such as online training and a marketing resource center. It was developed from the ground up to meet specifications set by Sea Scouts and Scouters from all over the country and no matter what you are accessing it from, it’s fast response times and responsive design make getting the information you need easier than ever.
More Content, More Accessible
In addition to the resources that were popular on the previous site, like the Sea Scout Manual Resource Center, Advancement Central, and the National Event Calendar, a wide range of new features have been added. Take a course in the new Online Training Dashboard, visit the Youth Training Center, check out Leader Resources, Ship Resources, the Marketing Toolbox, Program Toolbox, and the myriad of additional tools that have been collected on the site. Up to the minute news and social media integration will keep you informed on everything new while the Commodore’s Corner, a monthly update from the National Commodore, will inform you on what is coming next. If you are looking for more local information, be sure to check out your region’s page for news and updates specific to programs near you.
With all of this new content, ease of navigation was a priority. The design team made sure to structure the site so you do not have to be an expert to find all of these new features. The site has been organized into five main sections— Join, Program, Resources, News, and About. So, no matter what you are looking for it is only three clicks away from the homepage.
The Communications and Technology team of the National Sea Scout Committee has been developing this site over the last year after receiving suggestions from the National Youth Task Force in the Fall of 2014. The site, which has undergone beta testing for the last few months will go live March 3rd but as you are reviewing the site, give us some feedback or report an issue, so that others can have a more complete experience.
