This past October, Summit Bechtel Reserve hosted its first-ever Seabadge Course, SB-70-NY-2023, hosted by the Theodore Roosevelt Council!
Seabadge is Sea Scout’s BSA’s equivalent of Wood Badge and is available to any adult leader in the BSA to take and learn more about the Sea Scout program and effectively lead and deliver a positive Sea Scout experience to youth.
National Boatswain, Evan Nazareth, attended as staff and was presented his Seabadge pin for successful completion of the course. Bravo Zulu! He also delivered a presentation on the youth perspective in Sea Scouts.
Course Director Shon Montgomery worked hard with his staff to make this course possible, and we thank him and his team for their hard work and dedication to make this course possible!
Check out the Sea Scout Instagram, @seascoutsbsa, for a video with the National Boatswain and Course director about Seabadge and what it means for both adults and youth.
Beyond learning about the Sea Scout program and administering it, participants had the opportunity to experience the best of what Summit has to offer – climbing walls, the Big Zip, and more.
Check out the calendar on our website for future Seabadge courses and if you are eligible to attend!
