Jamboree 2017 is right around the corner. The Sea Scout National Committee is sponsoring an exhibit and we need volunteers. That includes youth and adults. Youth must be 16 by the time Jamboree starts.
Every four years about 30,000 Scouts plus Scouters come together for BSA National Jamboree. This is an excellent opportunity for the Sea Scouts to reach thousands of youth and adults, in the right age group, and tell them about our great program. Our purpose is to recruit youth and adults into existing ships as well as forming new ships.
Your job at the Jamboree will be to man our main exhibit and provide some support to satellite areas. Our exhibit will highlight the many parts of our program and how our members can benefit by joining. What the staff provides is the ability to explain what the program is really like in a face to face encounter. Consider it your summer sales job.
Jamboree runs from July 19 to July 28, 2017. You can sign up for the entire Jamboree or either the first or second half. Sea Scout staff for session 1 and 2 will be required to arrive no later than July 13, session 3 staff will need to arrive on July 21st. The session breakdown and costs, Jamboree fees only, are as follows:
Staff Session 1 – July 15-29, 2017 (full jamboree)
- Staff 26 and over as of July 18, 2017 – $850
- Staff 16-25 through July 18, 2017 – $425
Staff Session 2 – July 15-22, 2017 (half jamboree) – $425 (regardless of age)
Staff Session 3 – July 22-29, 2017 (half jamboree) – $425 (regardless of age)
