Our Platform is a Hinckley 40 foot Bermuda Yawl, sail or motor, your Boatswain can decide. Pack your sea legs for this whip around the Long Island Sound, what many consider NY’s Ocean. The program covers seven ports, each with its own unique challenges, from South Port to the USCG Academy in New London Connecticut on the Thames River. If you are looking for a leadership course where you have to be on your best game each day to get to your next port, where heavy weather may add some excitement to your day, or you may have to navigate in thick fog on a calm morning, or how about the Nuclear Submarine popping upon your stern with armed naval gunship protecting it. Do you know the rules for approaching naval ships? Can you communicate on your VHF with Bridge and Harbor Masters or with USCG patrol? If you can you read your chart correctly to equate that with your visual sights, then SEAL Long Island Sound is the course for you. We do our course work at our shore destinations each night and prepare for the next day challenges. Whether it’s going up the long and narrow Connecticut River or sharing the channel with nuclear submarines, every day is full of new challenges. With your safety instructors on board we are there to help you as individuals to finish the course as a SEAL team!
